When Moshe sees the burning bush, he says , "Let me turn now and see this great spectacle: why does the thorn bush not burn up?" “The L‑rd saw that he had turned to see, and G‑d called to him. “
What is with the repetition ?
Why does it say that Moshe turns around and Hashem noticed that he turned around?
This week our Lunch and Learn was with Yochi Ress- a clinical psychologist and musician- about happiness from a Jewish and psychological perspective.
He suggested that this was a powerful turning point (excuse the pun) in Jewish history- Moshe opened up his world and became aware of that around him, Hashem saw this and due to this, Moshe merited to lead the Jews to freedom.
This is a powerful message to all of us- the key to a happier life is mindfulness, opening up ourselves to that outside of us!
We have had a great start to the year on med campus - with SAUJS sign ups and four unique Lunch and Learns.
Please be in contact if you have any ideas or suggestions going forward!
Shabbat shalom and Chodesh Tov!
May it be a mindful one!
Love from Med School
